Startup Lab (COE 2701, CS 2701, MGT 4803) is a three-credit class for Georgia Tech students that teaches evidence-based entrepreneurship. The hands-on course covers ideation, teaming, customer discovery, MVPs, and the business model canvas. Each semester, students learn how to launch a startup by combining in-class lectures with out-of-class learning.

Evidence-based Entrepreneurship

First students learn the basics about startups including creativity, teaming, building a minimal viable product, startup metrics, pivoting, intellectual property, pitching, and raising money.

Customer Discovery

Then students learn about customer discovery. Students interview 20 potential customers each week so they start with a hypothesis and end with a product/service that customers want.

"CREATE-X Startup Lab helped me, as a young entrepreneur, develop the confidence to tackle the challenges of building a successful startup. The entrepreneurship ecosystem that these programs help foster has given me access to invaluable resources. The lessons learned in the courses, advice from seasoned entrepreneur mentors, and training through physical real-world application, to name a few, are some of the resources that have guided our startup to where it is today."
